Since January 2018 we have been collaborating with 3 Municipalities within the Attica District, aiming to maximize the effect of our Disability Awareness Educational Programs.

Municipality of Athens

During the Disability Awareness Month of the Municipality of Athens, SKEP's Associates:

  1. Informed 2.107 students through 31 Disability Awareness Educational Programs that were held in 20 schools in Athens
  2. Participated in the "Think Together Act Differently" event, conducted on Saturday, March 17th, with the following activities:
  • "Disability as a challenge: obstacles and solutions" a debate coordinated by our motivational speakers, Panagiotis Pitsiniagas and Stefanos Vouros.
  • "Give communication a sign" a Greek Sign Language workshop by Konstantinos Samaras.
  • "See Differently" an experiential speech by Vaggelis Avgoulas.

Municipality of Paleo Faliro

The Municipality of Palaio Faliro actively participated in SKEP's Disability Awareness Educational Program: "Focus on the Person", which was implemented throughout February in 15 schools of the region.

Every day, through an open dialogue with people with disability, we aimed to alter the attitude of 1.489 students regarding diversity and introduce them to the concept of social acceptance and equality. We collaborated closely with Mr. Yiannis Fostiropoulos, Vice Mayor of Education, Social Welfare and Sports implementing 21 Disability Awareness Programs.

Municipality of Vrilissia

In colaboration with Mrs. Sofia Xantzara, Vice - Mayor of Education and Volunteering, SKEP implemented 9 Disability Awareness Educational Programs in 5 schools and 698 students of the region.

Moreover, on February, 16th, our Program was implemented in collaboration with the Social Protection and Solidarity Organization of the Municipality of Vrilissia, within the framework of the Parents' School. We discussed about diversity and various disability issues.
