This is our Panagiotis aka "Mr Cool". Today we "celebrate" 20 years since his accident!
One of the most common questions that he receives from children in our programs is "do you prefer your life as it is now or as it was before you get a disability?"
His answer "My life is better and fuller than most". Disability made me very sad at first, mainly because I mistakenly believed that people with disability are unhappy. I finally understood my mistake, I was stereotyping. At first, I felt that my disability was my trade mark.. Soon I realized that it is just one of my features. I have many more important things, both positive and negative, that characterize me.
If you stop and think of the things that make you happy. You' ll see that you'll be thinking about your friends, your spouse, your job, food, ice cream, traveling, family... I feel very lucky because I have everything that is important to be happy".
