Athena Kritikou

Founder & President of the Board

Athena is the Founder and President of the Board of SKEP. Over the last 14 years, her mission has been to create a "Society for All", promoting social inclusion of young people with disabilities. She was raised in Paris before moving back to Greece in 1990. Athena studied Law at the University of Paris 2 Panthéon Assas and worked in advertising and communication consulting in both countries. 

 

Ιλεάνα Βασδέκη

Ileana Vasdeki

Director of Strategy, Coordination and Communication

Ileana is with us since the very beginning. She studied Psychology at the University of Nottingham and obtained an M.Sc in Occupational and Organizational Psychology from the University of London, Goldsmiths College. She worked in the Advertising sector before joining us as our Director of Communications and Resources.

 

Dimitra Kontova

Dimitra Kontova

Inclusion & Accessibility Consultant

Dimitra Kontova became physically disabled after a car accident in her early childhood. Through her attitude towards life and her active presence on social media, awareness campaigns and conferences, she challenges the stereotypes around disability and aims to create an inclusive society. Dimitra shares positive energy with everyone around her. After studying "Marketing and Communication" in AUEB – Athens University of Economics and Business, she then continued in the field of "Fashion Design & Styling". Dimitra is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Organization of Culture, Sports, and Youth of the Municipality of Athens (OPANDA) and is an active member of a dance troupe which has taken part in various social events.

Irene Trombeta

Head of Communication with Mainstream and Special Education Schools 

Irene graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science in Athens with a specialization in Adapted Physical Education. She is responsible for both the communication and activity planning with mainstream schools, special education schools and institutions. She also coordinates and coaches the sport of Bocce.

 

Βαγγέλης Αυγουλάς

Vaggelis Avgoulas

Collaborator - Motivational Speaker

Vaggelis Avgoulas is a lawyer specializing in Civil Law, President of Me Alla Matia NPO, and a Municipal Councilor in Ilion, Attica, having also served as Deputy Mayor. He currently serves as a scientific associate of the Metropolitan Bishop of Ilion, Acharnes, and Petroupoli for social policy issues.  He is a Regular Representative of the International Organization VIEWS in Greece, for young people with visual impairments and a member of the Social Policy Committee of the Central Union of Municipalities (KEDE). He is the first disabled lawyer in history to be elected to the new Board of Directors of the Athens Bar Association. He has been the President of the Insurance Company "Oikos Nautou", Head of Youth of the Panhellenic Association of the Blind, Associate Member of the Accessibility Committee for Students with Disabilities of the University of Athens - since the establishment of the committee - and President of the Athletic Prefectural Union for Disabled People “Tyrtaeus”. He is the instigator of the social, fully accessible for every user, information portal meallamatia.gr.

 

Κωνσταντίνος Σαμαράς

Konstantinos Samaras

Collaborator - Motivational Speaker

Konstantinos Samaras was born in 1991 in Athens. Given his hearing loss as an infant and with some difficulty in verbal communication in his childhood, his attention was drawn from a very early age to extracurricular books and comics, thus beginning to capture the imaginary stories and their corresponding drawings verbally or figuratively. He studied Organization and Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business, continued in the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology and finally, studying Special Education at the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, which was also the subject of his master's degree. Although he grew up in a listening environment, he learned sign language as a student and works around it. He has worked in areas related to Special Education and as a Motivational Speaker at the Association of Social Responsibility for Children & Youth (S.K.E.P.). Today he is a Special Education Philologist at a Special School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and a Greek Sign Language Teacher at the Communication & Technology Center (K.E.T.). In his free time, he travels, reads extracurricular books, engages in the arts and watches series. However, his great passion was and remains writing, where he recently published his first novel.

 

Στέφανος Βούρος

Stefanos Vouros

Collaborator - Motivational Speaker

After his BA on Communication and Mass Media from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Stefanos obtained an M.Sc in Creative Advertising from the Edinburgh Napier University. He is currently working as a senior copywriter in an advertising agency.
Stefanos was born without the upper portion of his limbs.

 

Δημήτρης Καραναστάσης

Dimitris Karanastasis

Collaborator - Motivational Speaker

Dimitris holds a PhD in Banking from the University of Piraeus, Department of Banking and Financial Management. His research interests focus on financial stability, financial crises and banking. He is a Research Associate at the University of Piraeus and he teaches courses both at the doctorate and undergraduate level. He has held the position of the managing director of the Independent Living Organization of Greece "iliving", the first organization in Greece that promotes the Independent Living philosophy for persons with disabilities. He is also a member of ENIL's (European Network on Independent Living) audit committee. Dimitris is a wheelchair user the last 8 years.

 

Αναστασία Λάμπρου

Anastasia Lamprou

Collaborator - "Fingerprints" Art Workshops Coordinator

Anastasia holds a BSc in Architecture from the University of Bath, UK and is an alumni of the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA). She has worked in architectural offices, has illustrated books and participated in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She has also coordinated art workshops for children and tutored high school students in the preparation of their art portfolios.
