Presenting SKEP’s mission in Paris

On Wednesday, May 31st at the Embassy of Greece in Paris, the Ambassador Mrs. Maria Theofili, hosted an open discussion presenting the mission of SKEP - Association for Social Responsibility for Children and Youth. The open dialogue focused on "Social inclusion of people with disabilities: Barriers, challenges, solutions".

The event was attended by Mr. Yanis Bacha, press secretary for the Minister of State for Disabled People, attached to the Prime Minister, Mrs. Sophie Cluzel. On the following day Mrs. Kritikou met with Mr. Yani Bacha, and discussed proposals directed towards a policy of social inclusion on a European level.

Additionally, present at the event was a diverse audience of both Greek and French participants, as well as several representatives from French NGOs, who will also be meeting with Ms. Kritikou in order to exchange ideas and technical know-how. 

This presentation is part of SKEP’s systematic and targeted strategy, aiming at collaborating with European networks, thus improving social responsibility and active citizenship in society.  

The event was co-ordinated by SKEP's Founder and President of the Board, Mrs. Athena Kritikou, together with Mrs. Nana Mouskouri, who embraces their vision and actively participates in their cause.

Mrs. Kritikou presented the results of the work carried out by the association during the last 10 years and shared the good practices of SKEP’s Educational Disability Awareness Programmes.

Mrs. Mouskouri, conveying in her own unique way experiences from her life, emphasized the importance of understanding, acceptance and respect as essential prerequisites for social inclusion.

Sharing a common vision of “a society for all” in which every member can feel accepted and useful, they offered their own unique approach to social inclusion.
