7th Elementary school of Agion Anargyron

"because you're a nice person"
"because you have good manners"
"because you are funny"
"because what matters is you inner beauty"

Those are some of the answers, the students of the 7th elementary school, gave to our question: "Could Panagiotis, be loved by a woman even though he has a disability? If so, why?"

A special tour...

A special tour, this time on a toilet!
3rd grade students are looking with enthousiasm a toilet for people with disabilities, which, till , then they never knew it existed. But now they know that this little room is the one making a difference and allows a student with disability, to attend their school.

In the eyes of a child even a toilet can be impressive once they realise that, because of it someone can be part of their class.

51st Elementary school of Athens

We met students that were already familiar with the meaning of divesity, since most of them are coming from different backgrounds (different religions, countries, cultures) .

Waiting 90 students of mainstream and special education to have fun together!

Artful workshops, bocce and speeches were held in Bakogianis Park under the presence of the Mayor, Mr Maniatogiannis and the Vice Mayor Mrs Xatzara.
For three hours we played, we created adn we got to know each other. At the end we discussed all together: high school students, young people with disability, educators, and SKEPs executives.

Time was up but we wanted more...

3rd Conference of iatronet

Panagiotis Pitsiniagkas, SKEPs executive, was a speaker at the 3rd Conference of iatronet themed: "Child patient".

His speech was entitled "Isolation and stigma of the child-patient with disabilities: stereotypes and discrimination" and through it he explained how he breaks down stereotypes conversing daily with primary and secondary school students.

Closing here are the words of Dr. Temple Grandin which marked the beginning of our talk:
"There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do, instead of what he cannot do"

3rd Junior High School of Gerakas

Today we visited on of our well known unique schools, the 3rd jJunior High School of Gerakas. When we entered the school a student, from our last years' workshop, approached us and asked if we could visit to his class because they had a recess. It is our honour, that he preffered to spend his free time with us instead of playing outside!

4th Elementary School of Kifisia

"I have incomplete quadriplegia due to a spinal cord injury after a crushing fracture on the 5th and 6th cervical vertebra". That was Panagiotis answer to the question " What kind of disability do you have?" once in a conference held for doctors.
On the same question today he answered " when I was younger a car crashed me and now my legs are not working" since this was the first time 1st grade students, so we had to change accordingly the way we speak.
